On Friday August 8, the U.S. Coast Guard was able to rescue and transport a sick passenger from a Carnival Cruise Ship.

Per a local Miami News Report, Coast Guard officials learned 51 year-old man cruising on Carnival Ecstasy began suffering chest pains. This happened roughly 250 nautical miles east off of the Florida Keys.

Fortunately, the Coast Guard was able to intervene and take the passenger to safety, transporting him to a local hospital.

Incidents like this (transporting sick or medically impaired passengers off or cruise ships) are relatively common. With millions of passengers enjoying cruise vacations each year, accidents and medical emergencies are bound to happen.
